Privacy Policy

Who we are

WRKS is published by Ormsaltaren Music AB ("we", "us"). If you have questions about this policy, contact us at wrks@ormsaltaren.com.

What WRKS stores, and where

WRKS stores the information you enter so it can work as your training journal. This includes:

• Workouts, sets, cardio activities, WOD results, notes and how a workout felt.
• Programs, saved workouts and custom exercises you create.
• Optional profile answers from onboarding (for example training goals, and optionally gender, age range and training style), your weekly goal, body weight entries and app settings.
• If you use Trainer mode: the clients you add and their programs and workouts.

All of this is stored in the app's storage on your iPhone. WRKS does not have a server of its own and never sends your data to us or to any third party.

iCloud Sync

When you are signed in to iCloud on your device, WRKS keeps a copy of your data in your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so it is available on your other devices and after you reinstall the app. This copy is stored by Apple under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy. It is private to you: we, the developer, cannot access, read or delete it. You can see the sync status in WRKS under Settings → iCloud Sync, and turn iCloud off for WRKS in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud. WRKS keeps working on your iPhone without iCloud.

If you use iCloud Backup or a computer backup for your iPhone, your WRKS data is also included in that backup, as with any other app.

Optional profile answers are only used on the device to choose which photos are shown in the app. They never affect exercises, weights or program recommendations.

Camera

If you choose to scan a cardio machine display, WRKS uses the camera to take a photo and reads the numbers on your iPhone using Apple's on-device text recognition. The photo is never saved or uploaded, and the recognized text is not kept. Only the values you confirm on the review screen are saved to your workout. Camera access is optional; you can always enter cardio data by hand.

Importing workouts from text

You can paste a workout or program as text, for example an answer from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, and WRKS turns it into exercises, sets and reps. The text is read on your iPhone. WRKS does not send it to us, to an AI service or to anyone else. WRKS never contacts an AI service for you; you choose what to copy and paste.

Apple Health

If you turn on Apple Health import, WRKS asks for permission to read your workouts (such as runs, rides and workouts from Apple Watch or other apps that write to Health) so your journal is complete. WRKS never writes to Apple Health.

Workouts WRKS reads from Health are kept in your journal: on your iPhone, and in your private iCloud when iCloud Sync is on. They are never sent to us or shared with anyone else, and never used for advertising or marketing. You can turn off access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → WRKS. WRKS works fully without Apple Health.

Purchases

WRKS Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never receive your payment details. The app checks your subscription status with Apple's StoreKit on your device to unlock Pro features. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's privacy policy.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

The WRKS app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and no third-party SDKs. It does not use your data to track you across apps or websites. If you have opted in to share diagnostics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and usage statistics; that sharing is controlled by you in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Export, backup and deletion

• Export: you can export your data to a file from Settings and choose where to share or save it using the iOS share sheet. Once exported, that file is under your control.
• Restore: you can import a WRKS export file. It is read on your iPhone.
• Delete: you can delete individual workouts, programs and exercises in the app. Deleting the app removes its data from your iPhone. Data synced to your private iCloud can be removed in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. Because we never hold your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

Trainer mode

If you use WRKS to record information about clients you coach, that information is stored on your iPhone and, with iCloud Sync, in your private iCloud. You are responsible for having your clients' permission to record it, and for exporting or deleting it on their request.

This website

This section is about getwrks.app, not the app. The website has no accounts or forms. If you choose Allow in the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. Google Analytics then sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. Google acts as our processor, and data may be processed in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We do not use this data for advertising and do not combine it with anything from the app.

If you choose Decline or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is saved in your browser, and you can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. The website is hosted by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and time of request, for security and operation.

Early access list

If you sign up for early access on getwrks.app, we save your email address, the time you signed up and which button you used. We use it only to email you about early access to WRKS and its launch. We never sell it or share it with anyone for their own use, and we don't combine it with data from the app.

We process your email address based on your consent, which you give by submitting the form. It is stored in a database run for us by Cloudflare, Inc., our hosting provider, which acts as our processor. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to delete your address at any time by emailing wrks@ormsaltaren.com. We delete the list when it is no longer needed for early access and the launch, and at the latest 12 months after WRKS is released.

Children

WRKS is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Because no data is sent to us, we do not hold personal information about any user.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/EEA GDPR), you have rights to access, correct, export and delete your personal data. Since WRKS data is stored only on your device and in your own private iCloud, you can do all of this directly in the app and in your iCloud settings. Changes to this policy

If WRKS ever starts handling data differently, we will update this policy before that change ships and change the effective date above.
